Our First Properties
Forever Resorts had its genesis as a National Park Service (NPS) concessioner. Rex Maughan, president and founder of Forever Resorts, made the first acquisition in 1981 - Callville Bay Resort & Marina on Lake Mead, and Cottonwood Cove Resort & Marina on Lake Mohave, Nevada.
And Then...
Operations expanded to Rocky Mountain, Grand Teton, Isle Royale, Mammoth Cave, Lake Amistad, Badlands, Lake Meredith, Blue Ridge Parkway, Big Bend, Padre Island and Olympic National Parks. As our organization has grown, additional popular tourist destinations have come to include Don Pedro Lake, Lake Oroville and Trinity Lake in California, Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri, Montauk State Park in Missouri, Monterey County Parks that include Lake Nacimiento and Lake San Antonio in California and Southfork Ranch, the world-famous attraction and hotel near Dallas, Texas. Forever Resorts also operates Mormon Lake Lodge and The Zane Grey Museum near Flagstaff, Arizona.
Forever Houseboats
Forever Resorts provides luxury rental houseboats at 12 marina properties, nationwide. The Forever Houseboats are manufactured in Indiana and Arizona. Both factories have implemented an environmental program called, Forever Earth that has been certified to ISO 14001:2004. All boats they build are National Marine Manufacturing Association certified and built to ABYC and US Coast Guard Specifications. Forever Resorts is the first houseboat rental operation to have 100% of it's fleet compliant to USCG recommendations for Carbon Monoxide protection on houseboats.
A Higher Standard
At Forever Resorts, we hold the protection of the precious natural environments in which we operate as a very high priority. We are proud of the fact that every Forever Resorts property has earned the International Organization for Standards (ISO) 14001:2004 certification. Forever Resorts is the first and only U.S. multi-location hospitality, marine and lodging operating company that has achieved this certification in every operating unit.
Working with 26 public and private organizations, we designed and constructed the 70-foot Forever Earth houseboat to be a floating research laboratory and classroom dedicated to protecting water quality in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Forever Resorts donated Forever Earth to Outside Las Vegas, a nonprofit organization, and to the National Park Service.
