I haven't had such a fun and memorable day in quite awhile. We went upstream to the dam and eventually discovered the hot springs where we spent most of the day hiking the canyon and enjoying the hot pools and waterfalls. On the way back, I looked at the fantastic scenery and said, "I hope I dream about this tonight!"

Frequently Asked Questions

Hoover Dam

Q: Do I need a special license to rent a boat?
A: No. You need a picture ID and be over 21 years of age. We will go over the operation and use of the boat, as well as explaining how to boat safely and responsibly.

Q: What is there to see and do after I rent a boat?
A: In the Black Canyon, just a short distance from Willow Beach, you can visit several hot springs, accessible by boat. This is a great area to fish. The World's Fresh Water Record for Striped bass was caught just eight miles from Willow Beach. You can hike and explore the many side canyons in the area. You can take some spectacular photos of this unique area. You could spot Big Horn sheep, osprey, eagles, blue heron, bobcats, and other wildlife that live in the area.

Q: Can I camp in the area?
A: Yes. In fact we do a lot of overnight rentals for people that are camping. You may camp almost anywhere along the shore. It will be primitive camping. There are no developed campgrounds in the Willow Beach area. This is really the best way to enjoy the high desert.

Q: How far is Willow Beach from Las Vegas?
A: Willow Beach is less than fifty miles from the Las Vegas Strip. It will take about one hour to drive to Willow Beach, unless you stop at Hoover Dam, which is on the way.

Q: What kind of items can I find in the store at Willow Beach?
A: The store carries groceries, snacks, cold drinks, boating & camping supplies, fishing tackle and bait, clothing, gifts, souvenirs, film, cameras, and ice. They also sell Arizona fishing licenses. Both boat and auto gas are also available.

In 2003, Black Canyon/Willow Beach River Adventures was certified to ISO 14001. Forever Resorts is the first U.S. multi-site hospitality, lodging and marina provider to be certified to ISO 14001:1996 for all its domestic operations. The benefits of initiating an EMS in accordance with ISO 14001 standards are many: identifying areas for reduction in energy and other resource consumption; reducing environmental liability and risk; helping maintain consistent compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements; benefiting from regulatory incentives that reward companies showing environmental leadership through certified compliance with internationally recognized EMS standards; preventing pollution and reducing waste; improving community good will; profiting in the market for "green" products and demonstrating commitment to high quality.
