I haven't had such a fun and memorable day in quite awhile. We went upstream to the dam and eventually discovered the hot springs where we spent most of the day hiking the canyon and enjoying the hot pools and waterfalls. On the way back, I looked at the fantastic scenery and said, "I hope I dream about this tonight!"

Hoover Dam

The Bureau of Reclamation started conducting tours through the Hoover Dam and Power Plant in 1937. More than 60 years later, Hoover Dam still stands as a world-renowned structure. The dam is a National Historic Landmark and has been rated by the American Society of Civil Engineers as one of America's Seven Modern Civil Engineering Wonders. Today, close to 1,000,000 visitors a year take the tour and millions more drive across the dam.

Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce

Trying to describe Las Vegas in a few hundred words is a formidable task. Should the focus be on the city's mystic qualities - the dazzling lights and glittering resorts where more than 35 million pleasure-seeking tourists wager millions of dollars every year? Or should one look beyond the myth, at a southwestern metropolitan area that is home to 1.4 million people - a place with schools, parks, grocery stores, and quiet neighborhoods populated by people from every state in the union?
